Day After Christmas At George's

George, a coworker who helps take care of the pool, fields, and courts, invited me to eat and send the afternoon with his family and friends the day after Christmas. Very enjoyable. I was picked up at the front gate to the college at 11:30 and returned to my appartment at 19:00.

George is seated to the left of me and the individual to the right is Appopoulos (sp) at 75 year old retired professor of matematics. He has written 80 tomes (books) and is very well known and respected in at least the Greek scientific community. He is also quite the philosopher. He did not speak english so those who did interpreted for me. George's 12 year old daughter, seated at the furthest to the right of the picture, was very good with her english. Other english speakers included the women dead center and the man to her left as we look at the picture. Of course George was fairly fluent in english. Once Again the Greeks out did themselves with a wonderful meal. The boar had cooked all night. George claims to have shot it. He fits right in with Arthur and me. When I left they sent me home with some cookies.

George had previously explained Oliver's condition to these folks and they all expressed concern and let me know their entire church is praying for him. Just before I left George got a call from his father who is seat far right in the photo and had left a little earlier
asking George to come take him to the hospital. Apparently he is diabetic and does not watch is diet too well. George dropped me off on his way to his fathers which is about one to two kilometers from my residence.
I hope you all had a good Christmas and are ready for the New Years festivities.

Greek Christmas Greetings

My lack of skill with this program caused me to erase this picture from it's original loction. Please forgive and put it where it belongs in your mind. - Thanks.

These pictures were all taken today on The American College of Greece campus before I went to the pool to brush algae. I was destined (doomed) for work; but do miss my family and wish they could all be here. Maybe then I might be inspired for fun. Aw, work is fun if you approach it correctly. However, I count my blessings that they are all safe and my children are with loved ones for the holidays. I am so thankful for living in these times with phones and internet which can help bridge great distances. Even more importantly, having the Holy Ghost to help me know that all is right and knowing that each member of my family has that same great gift. My Christmas is full even though I am sperated by time and space from family they are right here with me. The greatest gift you can give me is to be kind one to another and follow the Spirit.

For those of you reading this blog that are not in our immediate family, my wishes for a very plesant Christmas is extended to you as well. And at this time an invitation to seek with real intent for the true meaning of Christmas and what it can ultimatly offer you.

My spelling reminds me of Fred Weskey of the Grants Pass ward. I only hope to convey half the Spirit he was able to at our ward council meetings. If you don't know Fred ask Laurie. And no, Matt it's not another name for me.

For the beauty of the earth.

A heaveny look.
Flag picture.

Great to be an American and a Greek at heart

Vaiety in Greece Abounds.
Missing is the Boyett-Anderson-Pesch connection. It has been revealed that the circuit may soon be completed.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL AND...THE STORY SHALL GO FORTH.

Nothing in life without problems?

THE PICTURES SAY IT ALL.
Apply the title to anything you want; but remember problems are really opportunities in desguise.

We got a little lucky (opportunity meets preparation). The pumps seem to work ok after drying out and the piping may be redone appropriately; which is on our round to it list.

I'm Back!

The antena to my internet connection was hit by lighting several weeks ago and put me off-line. It has now been replaced and here I am. It will take a while to read and catchup on all the post on our families other blogs, so please be a little patient. The pictures below show what has been our project over the last few weeks. Yes a Dome has been placed over the magnificant pool and yes, folks still use it and appreciate swimming in the winter.
